We are in an unprecedented period of concern for the health and well-being of each other, including people and our pets. So, we wanted to personally reach out to you and provide an update on the actions Bonnie’s Barkery is taking to protect the health and safety of our customers, employees and neighbors.
As a small business employing local employees and serving hundreds of pet owners, we are taking necessary precautions to ensure the financial and health safety of our employees. At the same time, we will continue to provide the products and services our customers need in a safe shopping environment.
We believe the best approach is to follow the guidance and advice of the medical experts for preventing the spread of viruses. We have implemented rigorous cleaning and disinfecting procedures in our store, including cleaning our merchandising areas, paying special attention to high contact surfaces like freezer/refrigerators, counters, restrooms, door handles shopping carts and payment terminals.
Employees will increase the frequency of their hand washing throughout the shift, and any employees experiencing flu-like symptoms will not be permitted to work. Our grooming areas are sanitized between services using a highly effective pet and personal disinfectant.
Supplies & Stock
At this time we are not anticipating any inventory issues and will continue to stock our shelves and try to have sufficient inventory to meet our customer’s needs. We are in regular contact with our suppliers and distributors and will adjust our buying patterns accordingly to keep our shelves as full as possible.
We have invested in a new web based technology (online ordering will be available SOON, week of March 16th) that provides an easy way for you to continue getting your regular pet products from us should you choose not to enter the store. You will be able order online (24/7) and request a curbside pickup – we’ll bring the products out to you or stop in to pick up. Our top selling items we carry in store will be available for curbside/in store pickup.

Should you be or know pet parents in a particularly difficult situation (i.e. nursing homes) who are unable to get to a store for shopping or pickup, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will work on a short-term custom solution.
Pets & COVID-19
To date, the CDC has not received any reports of pets or other animals becoming sick with COVID-19. At this time, there is no evidence that companion animals including pets can spread COVID-19. However, since animals can spread other diseases to people, it’s always a good idea to wash your hands after being around animals.
